Why should I hire an attorney?

Hiring an attorney is the first step in preserving your interests and rights in your legal matter. A seasoned and proficient attorney knows the law and knows what needs to be done in the required timeframe. Whether it is procedural issues or questions of law, not having representation can delay getting you the justice that you deserve.

Will the judge help me if I choose not to hire an attorney?

A person proceeding pro se, meaning proceeding without an attorney, is held to the same standards as an attorney. If you are not familiar with the laws, local rules, or pertinent statutes that govern your case, you will not receive help from the court and/or the judge.

The thought of hiring an attorney may be daunting as you think about the potential associated costs. What people unfortunately don’t consider is that not hiring an attorney can be even more costly. Our fees are based on what your legal matter entails. Our rates are either hourly, flat fee, or contingency. Most fees are flat rate and we offer payment plans. Additionally, we accept all major credit cards.

What is the difference between hourly rates, flat fee, or contingency fees?

On an hourly fee basis, fees are based on an hourly rate for services rendered. On a flat fee basis, your legal fee is a fixed amount that is agreed upon when you retain our services. Lastly, on a contingency fee, your legal fees will be based upon what we recover for you. If there is no recovery, there is no fee owed by you.

Modern technology has allowed the practice of law to be a lot more efficient. Our office is on the cutting edge of technology as we offer several alternatives to coming to our office. We are available for not only teleconferences but video conferences as well. We strive to make your consultations as easy as possible.

What can I expect during my first appointment with my attorney?

During your first appointment, you should be all of your pertinent court documents and other supporting documents for the attorney to review. You will have anywhere from 30-60 minutes to ask any questions that you may have. The attorney will then tell you what strategies should be used to effectively handle your case.

English is not my first language. Will this prohibit me from speaking with  an attorney?

Even if you don’t speak English, we can still help you. We have represented clients that spoke a variety of languages including Spanish, Cambodian, and French. In addition, we also speak Spanish. Contact us so we can help.
